Mall Grab Coffee Company is a small coffee roaster based in Portland, Oregon. Mall Grab is a brand at the intersection of coffee, skateboarding and giving back.
‘Mall grab’ is a phrase used to describe how posers hold their skateboard while trying to look cool at the mall. Mall Grab Coffee takes that idea and turns it on its head. The message is that, just like skateboarding, coffee should be for everyone. Enjoy it in whatever way makes you happy; whether that’s with an AeroPress, Chemex, or just a Mr. Coffee drip coffee maker.
This is a brand that loves to make people feel welcome and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I crafted the logo by hand to embrace the casual friendliness that permeates the brand. Mall Grab revels in its overt Simpsons influence; both in the brand personality and the style and colors of the visual identity.

This alternate logo was designed for use when the primary logo is not a good fit, especially social media avatars.
A hand-lettered “DRINK IT” pattern was designed as a supporting design element. Here, it is shown as the background pattern for a sticker label.
I designed this repeating pattern to be flexible enough to work in various usage cases, including packing tape and web site footer area.
