Branding for a budding organization of rad dads in the Pacific Northwest
The Multnomah Dads Society is a social and philanthropic group of dads located in Multnomah County, Oregon.
The logo reflects the values of long term growth, nurturing, and togetherness that the MDS holds dear as well as conveying a sense of this special place it calls home with a minimal/abstract representation of the beautiful old-growth forests found in the area. The design is worked into the shape of an upper-case M for Multnomah Conty.
The inverted version of the logo uses white outline to serve as a container that retains the shapes of the trees.
The color palette reinforces the themes of the logomark with shades of green that imply growth and a complimentary, friendly blue color. In the mark itself, the blue represent sky and water, which nurtures the trees. The graduated shades of green imply growth and maturation over time.
The typographic palette is based on the same typefaces used in the logo. Complimentary serif/san-serif fonts allow it to be both refined and inviting. Impactful headlines can be crafted using with Superior Title or heavier versions of Proxima Nova, while Proxima Nova does the heavy lifting as a robust and readable font family.
The logomark can be used in isolation where appropriate.
The logotype pairs Superior Title with Proxima Nova, both are subtly customized for the logo itself.
